inspired by a friend's post
non-exhaustive list of things in my living room

A New Year
As a direct result of moving back to Canada I have returned to my pre-Europe habit of not using the internet. It was much more useful as a tool of communication when I was in different continent but once again feels like quite the waste of time because I’ve been on a 4 week break (of having a job again, and all the usual “coming home” things). Th ways of killing men and beasts are the same
I’ve seen them: truckfulls of chopped-up men who will not be saved.
Ideas are mere words: virtue and crime truth and lies beauty and ugliness courage and cowardice.
Virtue and crime weigh the same...

There is a time for everything
Today I wrote 2 full-fledged essays in one go (and they’re good ones if I do say so myself). One was due today, the other due tomorrow. I ate homemade burritos for dinner and have been studying for my second last exam tomorrow at noon.
What am I doing for the next 12 days? Aside from studying for my last exam which isn’t until a week from tomorrow I hope to take pictures of all my...

From the Polish Underground:
“Yes”, She Says
Yes, I survived. Now I face an equally serious challenge: to get on a bus, to go home.

“The work of human thought should withstand the test of brutal, naked reality. If it cannot, it is worthless. Probably only those things are worth while which can preserve their validity in the eyes of a man threatened with instant death.”...

I feel like you could say this about any relationships. Any friendship really is such a gift of grace.

My best friend posted this, and I love it because it’s just too true.
